Acuity Counseling Therapist Bio

Kayla Moore, MS, LMFTA

Individual and Couples Therapist

Kayla enjoys working with individuals and couples in therapy to improve the stress and friction that can emerge when our expectations of how things should be don’t match up with the way things are. It can be especially hard to avoid getting caught in the “should” when you find yourself in transition such as emerging adulthood, attending college, beginning a new career or starting a new relationship.

Working with Individuals
Are you a young adult struggling with feelings of anxiety, panic, depression? Are you a young woman, feeling the pressure of societies expectations? If you find yourself in a different place in life than you thought you’d be today, Kayla wants to support you in your self-exploration to create the vision for the life YOU want.

Individual Counseling for Women

Are you wanting to explore your identity as a woman? Have you identified the unique strengths of being a woman? Maybe you’re wrestling with what it means to be a woman in today’s society? Kayla’s work with women seeks to empower you and support you in honoring your own voice. Together you and Kayla will explore your personal story to identify your inner strengths and skills and allow you to embrace your own personal power.

Working with Couples
Are you in the early stages of a relationship and want to be proactive about potential challenges ahead? Are you thinking of taking the next step with your partner…maybe moving in together or getting married? Has your long-term relationship lost that spark it used to have? Whatever your challenge, sexual orientation or relationship style, Kayla can offer communication skills training and a compassionate outsiders perspective to support couples from all walks of love.

How I Can Help
Kayla’s work is informed by Narrative therapy, Cognitive behavioral skills (CBT) and the belief that you are the expert of your life. As your therapist, Kayla seeks to support you and help move you towards the positive changes and personal growth you are seeking. She has a passion for working with those coming to therapy with concerns around sexuality; sexual dysfunction, intimacy, sex within relationship types, personal sexuality and gender identity. She is open and affirming of all persons, and enjoys supporting those who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ and Poly/Kink communities.

Areas of Specialization

  • Concerns of anxiety, depression, work stress, emerging adulthood
  • Couples Counseling surrounding communication skills, pre-marital counseling, relationship support
  • Personal Growth, Personal Identity & Social Justice
